Garlic Bread at some's place in Waiuku

cooking bear

Waiuku Township
Franklin District
NZ

I was lucky enough to tag along (ok - invited actually) to a birthday party for a 14 year old princess and her large extended family, and urm there was an awful lot of home made food being prepared. Shamelessly everyone brought more and certainly the plentiful garlic bread came from a local supermarket - I saw the wrappers - but don't ask me which national chain supplied the goods.
The bread itself was a french baguette type cut horizontally and liberally spread with the garlic butter. Now there were actually two types and one of them was just divine.
It must have had something to do with the fact that it came more or less hot out of the oven and got served straight away thus the bread was still warm and moist, there was plenty of garlic flavour, and surprisingly enough a thin layer of baked soft melted cheese.
The whole fitted nicely together. Very nicely done.
